Army Training
eXtrac’s global tracking service has been used to good effect by the British army on a number of exercises to provide situational awareness and After Action Review (AAR) for the directing staffs.
eXtrac have been involved with British Army Capability Concept Demonstrators (CCDs) designed to maximise training benefit through the use of personnel and vehicle trackers. By using the low cost/small size hardened Shout nano devices in conjunction with Iridium’s global coverage, eXtrac have been able to provide the British Army with a global training optimisation system, in order to better prepare units and formations for operational deployment, familiarity with the employment and exploitation of Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) assets. eXtrac have maximised the training opportunities of the exercise forces by providing a Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) feed of forces into the exercise control and playback facilities.
Training events following on from the CCD have concentrated on giving the directing staffs the overall situational awareness (SA) of all forces involved in the exercise and therefore the wherewithal to stimulate the most relevant training opportunities. eXtrac’s mobile display system provided an off the shelf solution for exercise coordination.
Throughout all of these deployments eXtrac’s equipment has proved to be reliable and effective when working in the harshest environments in the world.
